Promises never feel real until you don't know what to do with them.

Sometimes I miss the way things used to be.
When riding the bus to school was my only choice,
and panic and stress were constant.

Is that too strange?
That now that things feel good and correct,
that I'm starting to work hard to do the right thing,
and now I feel guilty.

Because sadness and longing have been my companions for so long.
Hurt and Tiredness were always lurking by.
How do you deal with happiness?
What do you do when you feel no reason to pout,
when everyone else seems to be so upset?
I feel like it's not fair,
like I should be sharing in the pain.

So what do you do
when you're finally feeling the Love that was always promised?

  1. You rejoice in it. And then you love on others, the ones who seem so upset and hurting as well. Because really, you can only love by the measure of which you know you are loved.

  2. Without having felt pain, you cannot really feel empathy.

Without having felt joy, what hope do you have to offer?

You're in the PERFECT place to be able to embrace the sadness with joy, and to help overcome it. Your joy can be a very real testament to God's power and how He can help others overcome their sadness.

Where you're at makes you a fantastic person for encouragement and intercession. Being there for your friends doesn't require feeling the pain as much as it does the caring and understand that come from having felt it.

After all, the love that you were promised... His perfect love...

    can cast out fear,

    can heal the brokenhearted,

and can replace mourning with joy.

What's most beautiful is that it's meant to be shared... and the more of His love you give, the more He'll give you.

You can share in others' pain without losing your joy. Your friends need you now more than ever. Be the encourager. Be the intercessor. Spread the love. It's a blessing.

But it's not for only you.

God does a lot of His loving through people. :)
